System Overview
What is ISMS?
ISMS is an all-in-one software for managing and monitoring your building's access control system. It combines card access setup, live event monitoring, alarm handling, and floor plan viewing into one platform.
What can I do with ISMS?
You can register users and their access cards, control doors, lifts, and turnstiles, monitor alarms and access events in real time, and view everything on an interactive floor plan.
How is ISMS different from older versions?
It replaces the old CAS and SCM programs with one modern, browser-based system that's faster, easier to use, and has a single login for all functions.
Who uses ISMS?
Security officers, building admins, and IT staff who manage entry access, schedules, and alarms in the facility.
System Setup & Access
How do I install ISMS?
Run the provided installer and follow the setup wizard. It will automatically install the database and initialize the system for you.
How do I open ISMS after installation?
Once installed, open your browser and go to the local or server address provided (example:
http://localhost:8080/SM)
Log in with the credentials given by your administrator.
What browsers are supported?
ISMS works best on:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
What should I do if I forget my password?
Ask your system administrator to reset it through the User Management module.
I can't log in. What should I do?
Verify your username and password, or contact your system administrator to reset your credentials.
Cardholders & Access Control Configuration
How do I register a new cardholder?
Go to Cardholders Setup → Add User, enter the user's information, tap the card on a reader to register it, assign an access group, then click Save.
What access modes are supported?
- Card only
- Card + PIN
- Fingerprint only
- Card + Fingerprint
- Visitor cards
Why can't a user enter through a door?
Check if:
- The user's card is active
- The access schedule allows entry at that time
- Fingerprint only
- The card was downloaded to the controller
- The door is online
How do I deactivate a lost card?
Go to Cardholders Setup, select the user, and disable or delete the card. You can then assign a new card.
How do I add or configure a door?
Go to Controller Settings → Door Settings, select the controller, then edit the door name, delay time, and schedule. Click Save and Download to apply.
Can I control doors remotely?
Yes. From the Dashboard or Floor Plan, click the door icon and choose Unlock or Lock.
How do I configure lift access?
In Lift Settings, assign floors and schedules to each user group. Each controller can support up to 64 floors.
What does Anti-Passback mean?
It prevents a user from entering again without first exiting — stopping people from sharing cards.
Monitoring, Floor Plans & Reports
What does the ISMS Dashboard show?
It displays real-time system activity including:
- Card Access (Granted or Denied)
- Door Open/Closed status
- Alarms and event notifications
- Controller online/offline status
What is the Alarm section for?
This area lists recent alarms like fire, panic, or door forced open events. You can click to acknowledge or mute the alert sound.
How do I check who last entered a door?
Open the Access Events tab, select the door, and filter by date/time. The system will show the user's name, card ID, and timestamp.
Can I pause the live event feed?
Yes. Click the Pause/Play button on the event panel to temporarily stop updates while reviewing older entries.
What is the Floor Plan feature?
It shows a visual map of your building with icons for doors, readers, and alarms. You can monitor and control devices directly from the layout.
How do I add or edit a floor plan?
Switch to Edit Mode, upload a floor image, then drag and drop devices (doors, readers, cameras, etc.) onto the map. Save your changes to apply them.
Can I open a door from the floor plan?
Yes. Click the door icon and choose Unlock or Lock.
Why is a door icon red or blinking?
It means an alarm or abnormal event (e.g., door forced open) is active on that device.
What reports can I generate?
You can view and export:
- Access logs
- Door Open/Closed status
- System audit trails
How do I export reports?
After filtering your report, click Export, then select the format (CSV, Excel, or PDF).
Can I see which admin made changes?
Yes. The Audit Trail lists every login, configuration edit, and system action made by each user.
User Management, System & Data Security
What are the user roles in ISMS?
- User: Can monitor and view logs
- Admin: Can configure doors, cardholders, and schedules
- Superadmin: Has full access to all settings and users
How do I add a new system user?
Go to System Settings → User Management → Add User, fill in details, choose the role, and click Save.
Can multiple users log in at once?
Yes. ISMS supports multiple concurrent sessions for monitoring and configuration.
What database does ISMS use?
Microsoft SQL Server is used to store all system data securely.
Does ISMS work without internet?
Yes. Local controllers continue to enforce access rules even when the server is offline, and they automatically sync data when reconnected.
What happens if power or network is lost?
Controllers store transactions locally and sync them once power or connection is restored.
Can ISMS connect to CCTV?
Yes. It supports ONVIF-compatible IP cameras that can show live or playback views linked to doors or alarms.
Is my data safe?
Yes. SM uses encrypted communication and secure database storage to protect user credentials and activity logs.
Who can see access logs?
Only authorized users with admin or higher permissions can view or export access logs.
